An old women in Nazare wearing the tradition 7-layer skirt and heavy wool stockings.  In olden days the women used to work on the boats in the water and wore 7 layers of skirts to keep themselves warm.  When they got out of the water they would put on the thick woolen stockings.  This woman sold nuts and cookies to tourists.

Nazare's North Beach with one of their monster waves-- this one only about 20' high

Big waves on Nazare's North Beach

Selling dried codfish on Nazare's South Beach

The gentle waves (???) on Nazare's South Beach -- I don't think so!

If this is gentle, I don't want to go on the North Beach!!!

Obidos -- the walled city

Church in Obidos

Brookly -- this one's for you.  I couldn't buy you a Minnie Mouse balloon so I took a picture of one in Obidos.  Keep your sister off your scooter!!!
